CVE-2026-86115 Details
Description
Sim before 0.8.14 classifies tool requests as internal based on URL prefix matching without scheme normalization, skipping SSRF validation and minting internal authentication tokens. Authenticated workflow authors can bypass external URL validation by supplying paths starting with /api/ in HTTP blocks to reach internal-only endpoints like POST /api/function/execute.
A vulnerability in Sim versions prior to 0.8.14 allows authenticated workflow authors to bypass external URL validation and access internal-only API endpoints. This is achieved by exploiting the application's URL routing mechanism, which incorrectly classifies tool requests as internal based solely on URL prefix matching. The flaw arises because the routing process fails to normalize URL schemes before applying validation, enabling users to send requests to restricted endpoints while circumventing server-side checks.
Users can update to Sim version 0.8.14 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
