Description
ntopng before 6.7.260717 fails to check user privileges in the pools bulk-delete endpoint, allowing authenticated non-administrators to delete all host pools and member bindings. Attackers can issue POST requests to the delete pools endpoint to irreversibly destroy every host pool, removing traffic policy bindings and visibility restrictions that may bypass security policies.
A vulnerability exists in ntopng versions prior to 6.7.260717, where the application fails to properly validate user privileges in the pools bulk-delete endpoint. This oversight enables authenticated users who are not administrators to delete all host pools and their associated member bindings. Exploitation of this vulnerability involves sending POST requests to the delete pools endpoint, which irreversibly removes every host pool. This action also eliminates traffic policy bindings and visibility restrictions, potentially allowing users to bypass security policies.
Users can update to ntopng version 6.7.260717 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
