Description
SiYuan versions before v3.8.2 contain a denial of service vulnerability in the publish-service Basic Auth throttle that stores failed-attempt state using attacker-controlled usernames without enforcing capacity limits or eviction policies. Unauthenticated attackers can submit repeated authentication requests with unique invalid usernames to exhaust memory and increase synchronization overhead, degrading service availability.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in SiYuan versions prior to 3.8.2. The issue arises in the publish-service Basic Auth throttle, which improperly manages failed authentication attempts by using usernames controlled by attackers. This mechanism lacks capacity limits and eviction policies, allowing unauthenticated attackers to send repeated authentication requests with unique invalid usernames. This behavior can deplete memory resources and increase synchronization delays, thereby disrupting service availability.
Users are advised to update to SiYuan version 3.8.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
