Description
SiYuan versions before v3.8.2 contain an unbounded session creation vulnerability in the publish-service Basic Auth handler that allows authenticated attackers to exhaust memory. Attackers can repeatedly authenticate with valid credentials to create persistent session entries without expiry or capacity limits, causing indefinite process memory growth and denial of service.
A vulnerability exists in SiYuan versions prior to 3.8.2, specifically within the publish-service Basic Auth handler. This unbounded session creation flaw allows authenticated attackers to exhaust memory resources. By repeatedly authenticating with valid credentials, attackers can generate persistent session entries that lack expiration or capacity limits. This behavior leads to continuous growth of process memory, causing a denial-of-service condition.
Users are advised to update to SiYuan version 3.8.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
