Description
Checkmate through 3.11.0 omits the isAllowed role guard middleware on maintenance-window, notification, and check-deletion routes, allowing read-only users to perform administrative actions. Attackers with user-role sessions can create arbitrary maintenance windows to silence alerts, modify notification channels, and delete monitor check history to erase incident evidence.
A vulnerability exists in Checkmate versions through 3.11.0, where the isAllowed role guard middleware is absent on maintenance window, notification, and check deletion routes. This oversight allows users with read-only roles to execute administrative tasks. Specifically, users can create maintenance windows that suppress alerts, alter notification channels, and delete monitor check history, thereby erasing evidence of incidents.
Users can update to Checkmate version 3.12.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
