Description
WWBN AVideo fails to properly validate access controls on the public channel page, allowing unauthenticated visitors to view unlisted and group-restricted videos through hardcoded visibility flags and an undefined property. Attackers can access the channel endpoint to retrieve sensitive video content that should be hidden, including full URLs to unlisted videos and thumbnails of member-only content, regardless of the operator's hidePrivateVideos setting.
A broken access control vulnerability has been identified in WWBN AVideo, specifically in versions through 29.0. The issue arises because the public channel page does not properly validate access controls, allowing unauthenticated visitors to view unlisted and group-restricted videos. This is achieved through hardcoded visibility flags and an undefined property that overrides the operator's settings. As a result, sensitive video content, including full URLs to unlisted videos and thumbnails of member-only content, is exposed, regardless of the operator's preferences.
To address this vulnerability, channel operators should ensure that the 'hide private videos' setting is properly configured and that any unlisted or group-restricted content is not shared publicly.
