Description
A vulnerability was identified in Tenda HG10 300001138. Impacted is the function formWlanSetup of the file /boaform/formWlanSetup of the component Boa Web Server. The manipulation of the argument ssid leads to buffer overflow. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit is publicly available and might be used.
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda HG10 AC1200 Dualband Wi-Fi xPON ONT router, specifically in the Boa web server's 'formWlanSetup' function. This vulnerability arises because the 'ssid' parameter is not properly validated before being copied into a fixed-size buffer, allowing remote attackers to exploit this oversight by sending overly long values through crafted HTTP requests. Successful exploitation can lead to a denial-of-service condition, causing the router to become unresponsive, and may also allow for arbitrary code execution, depending on the memory layout and runtime protections.
