CVE-2026-85001 Details
Description
The EmbedPress WordPress plugin before 4.6.7 does not sanitise and escape one of its Elementor widget settings before outputting it into an HTML attribute, which could allow users with the Contributor role or above to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when the affected content is viewed.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the EmbedPress WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 4.6.7. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly sanitize and escape a setting in one of its Elementor widgets before rendering it in an HTML attribute. This flaw enables users with a Contributor role or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when the content is viewed.
Users are advised to update the EmbedPress WordPress plugin to version 4.6.7 or later.
