CVE-2026-84831 Details
Description
SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway before 15.0.7 creates a fully privileged session before required multi-factor authentication enrollment is completed. An attacker with the password for an MFA-required but unenrolled account can access protected functionality without providing a second factor.
A vulnerability exists in SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway versions prior to 15.0.7, allowing an attacker to bypass mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA) for accounts that require it but have not completed the enrollment process. This issue arises because the gateway creates a fully privileged session before all MFA steps are finalized. As a result, an attacker with the password of an unenrolled account can access protected features without providing the required second authentication factor.
Users can update to SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway version 15.0.7 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
