Description
FeatherPanel versions before 1.3.7.10 fail to validate permissions in the SubuserController updateSubuser handler, allowing authenticated subusers to modify their own permission records. A subuser with minimal permissions can send a crafted request to grant themselves full server control, enabling unauthorized access to sensitive data, backups, and server configuration.
A vulnerability exists in FeatherPanel versions prior to 1.3.7.10, where the SubuserController's permission validation is inadequate. This flaw allows authenticated subusers to alter their own permission records. A subuser with limited permissions can exploit this by sending a crafted request to obtain full server control, thereby gaining unauthorized access to sensitive information, backups, and server configurations.
Users can update to FeatherPanel version 1.3.7.10 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
