Description
The BEAR WordPress plugin before 1.2.2 does not verify a CSRF nonce or check user capabilities before updating taxonomy terms, allowing an attacker to modify arbitrary terms by tricking a logged-in privileged user into visiting a crafted page.
A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability exists in the BEAR WordPress plugin, specifically in versions prior to 1.2.2. The issue arises because the plugin fails to verify CSRF nonces or check user capabilities before allowing updates to taxonomy terms. This flaw enables an attacker to manipulate arbitrary terms by deceiving a logged-in user with privileges into visiting a specially crafted page.
Users are advised to update the BEAR WordPress plugin to version 1.2.2 or later.
