Description
The LearnPress WordPress plugin before 4.3.7 does not gate the `edit` context on one of its REST endpoint behind the `edit_users` capability, allowing unauthenticated visitors to retrieve each returned user's roles, full capabilities map, extra capabilities, locale, and registration date via a crafted request
A vulnerability exists in the LearnPress WordPress plugin in versions prior to 4.3.7. The issue arises because the plugin does not properly restrict the 'edit' context on one of its REST endpoints, allowing unauthenticated users to access sensitive information. Specifically, this vulnerability enables the retrieval of user roles, a comprehensive map of user capabilities, additional capabilities, locale, and registration date through a crafted request. Normally, WordPress requires the 'edit_users' capability to access this information via the 'wp/v2/users' controller.
Users are advised to update the LearnPress WordPress plugin to version 4.3.7 or later.
