Description
Stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Remote I/O Coupler Unit (Server Type) CPSN-MCB271-*. Receiving a specially crafted request created and sent by a remote attacker may cause a denial-of-service (DoS) condition.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Contec CONPROSYS nano Series Remote I/O Coupler Unit (Server Type) CPSN-MCB271-* , all versions prior to 1.82. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to send specially crafted requests that can lead to a denial-of-service condition, causing the system to stop functioning.
Users are advised to update the firmware to version 1.82 or later. The latest firmware can be downloaded from the Contec website. For instructions on updating the firmware, refer to the applicable manual or Help documentation.
