Description
Buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Contec RP-WAH-SR Series. If a remote attacker sends a specially crafted request to the product's web service, an arbitrary program may be executed.
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Contec RP-WAH-SR Series, specifically in versions prior to 1.03 for the RP-WAH-SR1 and RP-WAH-SR2 models, and versions prior to 1.02 for the RP-WAH-SR12 and RP-WAH-SR22 models. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary programs by sending specially crafted requests to the product's web service.
Users are advised to update the firmware to version 1.03 or later for the RP-WAH-SR1 and RP-WAH-SR2 models, and to version 1.02 or later for the RP-WAH-SR12 and RP-WAH-SR22 models. The latest firmware can be downloaded from the Contec website. For those unable to update, it is recommended to disconnect the device from network lines, install a firewall to allow only trusted communications, and configure network access within a trusted closed network.
