CVE-2026-82193 Details
Description
The WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging WordPress plugin before 0.9.134 does not validate a user supplied file name before using it to build a write path, allowing administrators to write files of permitted types to arbitrary locations on the server and to overwrite existing files.
A vulnerability exists in the WPvivid Backup, Migration & Staging WordPress plugin in versions prior to 0.9.134. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly validate user-supplied file names before using them to create write paths. This flaw enables administrators to write files of allowed types to arbitrary locations on the server, potentially overwriting existing files. The vulnerability is exploited by uploading a file with a name that includes traversal segments, which is then written outside the intended directory.
Users are advised to update the WPvivid Backup, Migration & Staging WordPress plugin to version 0.9.134 or later.
