Description
The Photo Gallery, Sliders, Proofing and WordPress plugin before 4.5.0 does not check that a user holds its options capability before saving image sizing settings, allowing users granted only its gallery-management capability by an administrator to change settings that apply across the whole site.
A vulnerability exists in the NextGEN Gallery WordPress plugin in versions prior to 4.5.0. The issue arises because the plugin does not verify whether a user has the appropriate options capability before allowing them to save image sizing settings. This oversight enables users with only gallery-management capabilities, granted by an administrator, to modify settings that affect the entire site.
Users are advised to update the NextGEN Gallery WordPress plugin to version 4.5.0 or later.
