Description
The Vitepos WordPress plugin before 3.4.2 does not properly restrict the roles that can be assigned when creating new users via one of its REST API endpoints, allowing authenticated users with a custom Vitepos WordPress plugin before 3.4.2 role to escalate privileges to administrator.
A privilege escalation vulnerability has been identified in the Vitepos WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 3.4.2. The issue arises because the plugin does not adequately restrict the roles that can be assigned when creating new users through its REST API endpoints. This flaw allows authenticated users with a custom Vitepos role to escalate their privileges to that of an administrator.
Users are advised to update the Vitepos WordPress plugin to version 3.4.2 or later.
