Description
The BuddyPress WordPress plugin before 14.5.0 does not properly enforce authorization on its private messaging endpoints, allowing any authenticated user (Subscriber+) to read, modify, or delete other users' private messages.
A vulnerability exists in the BuddyPress WordPress plugin in versions prior to 14.5.0, where the private messaging endpoints do not properly enforce authorization. This flaw allows any authenticated user with a role of Subscriber or higher to read, modify, or delete private messages of other users. The issue arises because the authorization check can be bypassed by manipulating the user ID parameter, enabling unauthorized access to private message threads.
Users are advised to update the BuddyPress WordPress plugin to version 14.5.0 or later.
