Description
The WPFunnels WordPress plugin before 3.13.0 does not perform any authorisation or nonce check in one of its opt-in submission handlers, and takes the notification recipients and subject from the request, allowing unauthenticated users to make the site send emails to arbitrary recipients with an arbitrary subject.
A vulnerability exists in the WPFunnels WordPress plugin in versions prior to 3.13.0. The issue arises because the plugin's opt-in submission handler does not implement proper authorization or nonce checks. This oversight allows unauthenticated users to send emails to arbitrary recipients with customized subjects. The exploitation involves manipulating the request to include the desired email addresses and subject matter, which the plugin then sends out using the site's own email address.
Users are advised to update the WPFunnels WordPress plugin to version 3.13.0 or later.
