Description
A security vulnerability has been detected in D-Link DI-8100 16.07.26A1. Affected by this vulnerability is the function url_rule_asp of the file /url_rule.asp of the component POST Parameter Handler. Such manipulation leads to buffer overflow. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the D-Link DI-8100 Gigabit Router, specifically in the web management interface file '/url_rule.asp'. This vulnerability arises in the 'url_rule_asp' function, which improperly uses 'sprintf' to handle user-supplied HTTP POST parameters, concatenating them into a fixed-size stack buffer of only 8 bytes. This flaw can be exploited remotely, allowing an attacker to corrupt stack memory and potentially execute arbitrary code.
