Description
Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Visual Studio Code allows an unauthorized attacker to bypass a security feature over a network.
A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in Visual Studio Code, specifically in version 1.136.2. This vulnerability allows an unauthorized attacker to bypass the Workspace Trust security feature over a network. By exploiting this issue, an attacker could read local files and execute commands or code from an untrusted workspace without prior user approval.
