Description
The WP Import Export Lite WordPress plugin before 3.9.33 does not validate the type, extension or content of files it retrieves from a user-supplied URL during import, allowing users granted its import permission to store arbitrary files, including executable ones, on the server and achieve remote code execution.
A vulnerability exists in the WP Import Export Lite WordPress plugin in versions prior to 3.9.33. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly validate the type, extension, or content of files imported from user-supplied URLs. This lack of validation enables users with import permissions to upload arbitrary files, including executable ones, to the server, potentially leading to remote code execution.
Users are advised to update the WP Import Export Lite WordPress plugin to version 3.9.33 or later.
