Description
Unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the CSV file upload functionality of the Ocsreports admin_info endpoint. The application validates files solely based on the name provided by the client, without properly checking their content or securely restricting the permitted file types. This allows a user with administrator privileges to upload PHP files to a directory accessible via the web interface. If the file is subsequently processed by the server, an attacker could execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the account used by the web service.
A vulnerability allowing unrestricted file upload has been identified in the Ocsreports admin_info endpoint of OCS Inventory NG version 2.12.4. This vulnerability arises because the application only validates files based on their names, failing to properly check their contents or securely restrict allowed file types. As a result, an administrator can upload PHP files to a web-accessible directory. If the server processes these files, it could lead to arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the web service account.
Users can upgrade to OCS Inventory NG version 2.12.6 to address this vulnerability.
