CVE-2026-75823 Details
Description
The User Frontend WordPress plugin before 4.3.12 does not prevent tampering with the role assigned by its registration form, allowing unauthenticated users to register with a higher privileged role, such as Editor. This affects installations running a PHP build where the sodium extension is unavailable, and where a registration page has been configured. The administrator role cannot be obtained this way.
A vulnerability in the WP User Frontend WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 4.3.12, allows unauthenticated users to manipulate the role assigned during registration. This flaw enables users to register with elevated privileges, such as Editor, on installations without the sodium extension and where a registration page is active. However, it does not allow access to the Administrator role.
Users are advised to update the WP User Frontend WordPress plugin to version 4.3.12 or later.
