CVE-2026-7531 Details
Description
Use-after-free in PQC hybrid key-share handling. This is an incomplete-fix follow-up to CVE-2026-5460 (released in 5.9.1): a malicious TLS 1.3 server sending a truncated PQC hybrid KeyShare can still trigger the error cleanup path to operate on freed memory.
A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in wolfSSL's handling of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) hybrid key shares during the TLS 1.3 handshake. This vulnerability arises from an incomplete fix for a previous issue (CVE-2026-5460) and allows a malicious TLS 1.3 server to send a truncated PQC hybrid KeyShare, causing the error cleanup process to operate on freed memory. This vulnerability affects wolfSSL versions prior to 5.9.1.
Users are advised to update to wolfSSL version 5.9.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
