Description
PKCS7_verify signer confusion allows forged signatures, where the signer associated with a signature is not correctly bound, permitting a forged signature to be accepted.
A vulnerability in wolfSSL's PKCS7 signature verification process can lead to the acceptance of forged signatures. This issue arises from a confusion regarding the signer associated with a signature, allowing a signature to be accepted even when it is not properly validated. The vulnerability is present in wolfSSL versions through 5.9.0.
Users are advised to update to wolfSSL version 5.9.1, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
