CVE-2026-71282 Details
Description
ChirpStack's SQLite-backend device tag filtering (chirpstack/src/storage/device.rs, in both get_count and list) interpolates the user-supplied tag KEY directly into a raw SQL fragment via Rust's format! macro , while only the tag VALUE is safely parameter-bound via Diesel's .bind.
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in ChirpStack's SQLite backend device tag filtering. The issue arises because user-supplied tag keys are directly interpolated into raw SQL fragments, creating an opportunity for SQL injection. This vulnerability is present in ChirpStack versions that use the SQLite backend, specifically within the device storage module. The PostgreSQL backend is not affected, as it employs a safer JSONB containment operator.
