CVE-2026-71251 Details
Description
Akaunting's shared download route (app/Http/Controllers/Common/Uploads.php::download, reachable at uploads/{id}/download behind only generic auth middleware) fetched the requested Media record by ID with no verification that it belonged to the requesting portal customer's own company, allowing any authenticated portal customer to download any other company's uploaded files by guessing or enumerating media IDs.
A vulnerability in Akaunting's file download functionality allows authenticated portal customers to access and download media files uploaded by other companies. The issue arises because the download route does not verify whether the requested media belongs to the user's own company. This flaw enables users to exploit the system by guessing or enumerating media IDs, potentially leading to unauthorized access to sensitive files.
Users can update to Akaunting version 3.2.1, released on July 21, 2026, to address this vulnerability.
