Description
XING CPTrans-ME-X contains a Use of Default Password (CWE-1393). Anyone with the knowledge of the credential may log in to the affected device.
A vulnerability allowing the use of default passwords has been identified in the XING CPTrans-ME-X communication adapter, specifically in firmware versions prior to 1.8.1.17. This vulnerability (CWE-1393) allows anyone with knowledge of the default credentials to log into the affected device's Web UI.
Users are advised to update the device's firmware. The developer has implemented a firmware update via FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) in April 2026, which disables the administrative port in the initial configuration and limits the available commands to those necessary for maintenance.
