Description
FreeRDP before 3.29.0 contains integer overflow vulnerabilities in the audio input redirection channel (audin) across ALSA, sndio, WinMM, and OpenSL ES backends that fail to validate the FramesPerPacket parameter from RDP servers. Attackers can supply a malicious FramesPerPacket value causing allocation size wraparound, resulting in heap-based buffer overflow on ALSA or denial of service on all platforms.
A vulnerability exists in FreeRDP versions prior to 3.29.0 within the audio input redirection channel. This issue arises from integer overflow vulnerabilities across various backends, including ALSA, sndio, WinMM, and OpenSL ES. The vulnerability is triggered by the improper validation of the FramesPerPacket parameter received from RDP servers. Attackers can exploit this by sending a malicious FramesPerPacket value, causing an allocation size wraparound. This results in a heap-based buffer overflow on the ALSA backend or a denial-of-service condition on all affected platforms.
Users can update to FreeRDP version 3.29.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
