Description
An issue in the SBN UDP interface of NASA cFS v7.0.1 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via transmitting a crafted SBN frame.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the SBN UDP interface of NASA's cFS version 7.0.1. This issue arises because the SBN UDP module does not properly validate the 'MsgSz' field in the SBN header against the actual length of the received UDP datagram. As a result, an attacker can send a crafted SBN frame that appears to be longer than it actually is. The system then expands this truncated input into a local Software Bus message, which can lead to the unintentional disclosure of stale content from previously received buffers over the network.
