Description
An issue in Systerel S2OPC 1.7.3 allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via the event monitored-item queue resize handling
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Systerel S2OPC version 1.7.3. The issue arises when the server processes event notifications through a monitored-item queue. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by creating a subscription, triggering events, and then modifying the queue size, which leads to a server crash. The root cause is a NULL pointer dereference, as the event notification queue management does not properly handle the difference between data-change and event notifications.
Users can update to Systerel S2OPC version 1.7.4, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
