Description
Buffer Overflow vulnerability in Systerel S2OPC 1.7.3 allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via the Alarm/Conditions wrapper when processing PublishResponse EventNotificationList data
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Systerel S2OPC version 1.7.3. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial-of-service by manipulating the PublishResponse EventNotificationList data. The issue arises in the Alarm/Conditions wrapper, where the client-side code fails to properly validate the number of event fields received from the server. As a result, an attacker can inflate the event field count, leading to an out-of-bounds read that crashes the client process.
Users can update to Systerel S2OPC version 1.7.4, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
