S2OPC 1.7.3 contains an out-of-bounds read in RepublishResponse handling. This allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service
A heap-buffer-overflow vulnerability has been identified in S2OPC version 1.7.3, specifically within the handling of the RepublishResponse. This vulnerability arises from an out-of-bounds read during the serialization of a notification message that contains both data-change and event notifications. The issue allows a remote attacker to cause a denial-of-service by exploiting the improper management of notification data, leading to a crash of the OPC UA server.
Users can update to S2OPC version 1.7.4, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
