CVE-2026-67295 Details
Description
FreeRDP before 3.29.0 fails to properly validate server-supplied RDPDR paths in drive redirection, allowing attackers to access prefix-sibling paths outside the configured shared root. A malicious RDP server can read, write, delete, and enumerate files in sibling directories by sending non-rooted paths that bypass the shared-root boundary check.
A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in FreeRDP versions prior to 3.29.0. The issue arises in the drive redirection feature, where the application fails to properly validate server-supplied RDPDR paths. This lack of validation allows attackers to access sibling paths outside the designated shared root. By sending non-rooted paths that circumvent the shared-root boundary check, a malicious RDP server can read, write, delete, and enumerate files in these sibling directories.
Users can update to FreeRDP version 3.29.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
