Description
OpenRemote before 1.26.2 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in the console registration API that allows unauthenticated attackers to update existing console assets by supplying a known asset identifier. Attackers can overwrite push notification tokens and console metadata without authentication or ownership validation, redirecting notifications or denying delivery to legitimate consoles.
An authentication bypass vulnerability has been identified in the OpenRemote console registration API, affecting versions prior to 1.26.2. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to update existing console assets by providing a known asset identifier. The exploitation of this vulnerability enables attackers to overwrite push notification tokens and console metadata without any authentication or ownership validation. As a result, attackers can redirect notifications or prevent delivery to legitimate consoles.
Users are advised to update OpenRemote to version 1.26.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
