Description
Mattermost versions 11.7.x <= 11.7.1, 11.6.x <= 11.6.4, 10.11.x <= 10.11.19 fail to restrict metric configuration changes to the playbook being saved, which allows an authenticated user with team access to alter another user’s playbook metric settings via a crafted import or update request with a foreign metric ID. A vulnerability exists in Mattermost versions 11.7.x through 11.7.1, 11.6.x through 11.6.4, and 10.11.x through 10.11.19. The issue arises because the application fails to properly restrict changes to metric configurations within the context of the playbook being saved. This flaw enables an authenticated user with team access to modify another user's playbook metric settings by sending a crafted import or update request that includes a foreign metric ID.
Users can upgrade to Mattermost versions 11.9.0, 11.8.0, or 11.6.5 to address this vulnerability.
