CVE-2026-64879 Details
Description
A filename supplied during file upload is not properly sanitized before being used in system command execution, allowing an attacker to inject shell metacharacters and achieve command injection via the audit file upload functionality.
A command injection vulnerability has been identified in Tenable Security Center versions 6.6.0 through 6.8.0. The issue arises because filenames provided during file uploads are not adequately sanitized before being used in system command execution. This lack of proper validation allows attackers to inject shell metacharacters, exploiting the audit file upload feature to execute arbitrary commands on the server.
Tenable has released a security patch (SC202607.1) for this vulnerability. The patch is available through the Tenable Downloads Portal.
