Description
A permissions issue was addressed with improved validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10, iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.6, visionOS 26.6. An app may be able to delete files for which it does not have permission.
A permissions vulnerability has been identified in the BackgroundAssets component of various Apple operating systems, including iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.6, and visionOS 26.6. This vulnerability allows an application to delete files without having the necessary permissions. The issue arises from inadequate validation of file access rights, which could be exploited by apps to manipulate files improperly.
