CVE-2026-64635 Details
Description
Improper handling of the returnUrl parameter in the Forgot Password function of Veeam Service Provider Console allows an unauthenticated attacker to control the domain of the generated password reset link. When the targeted user clicks the link delivered by email, the reset code is transmitted to an attacker-controlled host, allowing the attacker to take over the account.
A vulnerability in Veeam Service Provider Console's Forgot Password function allows an unauthenticated attacker to manipulate the returnUrl parameter. This manipulation enables the attacker to control the domain of the password reset link sent to the user. When the user clicks the link, the reset code is transmitted to an attacker-controlled host, facilitating account takeover. This issue affects Veeam Service Provider Console versions 9.1, 9.2, and all earlier version 9 builds.
Users can upgrade to Veeam Service Provider Console version 9.2.1.33875 to address this vulnerability. For deployments on version 9.2.0.33215, the vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling alarm script execution, a setting introduced in version 9.2.0.33215. After adjusting this setting, the Veeam Management Portal Service should be restarted.
