CVE-2026-63897 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: mct_u232: fix missing interrupt-in transfer sanity check Add the missing sanity check on the size of interrupt-in transfers to avoid parsing stale or uninitialised slab data (and leaking it to user space).
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's USB serial MCT U232 driver has been addressed by adding a missing sanity check for interrupt-in transfer sizes. This vulnerability could lead to the driver parsing outdated or uninitialized memory, potentially leaking sensitive information to user space. The issue was introduced in Linux version 2.6.12-rc2 and has been fixed in the stable branch.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel stable branch, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
