Description
LibreOffice Draw can import PDF documents. A heap buffer overflow existed when importing a stream object. The length of the stream was taken from the object's own dictionary and was not checked against the number of bytes actually present, so copying the stream read and wrote past the end of the buffer holding it. In fixed versions the declared length is clamped to the bytes actually read.
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in LibreOffice Draw versions prior to 26.2.5, when importing PDF documents. The issue arises from the improper handling of stream object lengths, which were taken from the object's dictionary without verifying against the actual number of bytes present. This oversight allowed the stream to be read and written beyond the buffer's end, creating a potential exploitation risk. In the fixed version, the declared length is properly constrained to the bytes read.
Users are advised to upgrade to LibreOffice version 26.2.5 or later to address this vulnerability.
