Description
A SQL injection and unsafe deserialisation vulnerability in Koollab LMS allowed an authenticated attacker to inject through the assessment overall answer endpoint, control data passed to unserialize(), write a webshell to a publicly accessible location, and execute arbitrary code on the server.
A SQL injection vulnerability combined with unsafe deserialization has been identified in Koollab Learning Management System (LMS) version 5.3.2. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to inject malicious data through the assessment overall answer endpoint, manipulate data sent to the unserialize() function, and ultimately write a web shell to a publicly accessible location, executing arbitrary code on the server.
Three Learning, the product owner, has patched this vulnerability across all cloud-hosted instances of Koollab LMS. No manual update is required from users or administrators.
