Description
XING CPTrans-ME-X contains an OS Command Injection (CWE-78). Unauthenticated OS command may be injected.
An OS command injection vulnerability has been identified in the XING CPTrans-ME-X communication adapter, specifically in firmware versions prior to 1.8.1.17. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated users to inject operating system commands through the administrative port, potentially leading to unauthorized command execution on the device.
Users are advised to update the device's firmware. A firmware update via FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) was implemented for affected products in April 2026. After the update, the administrative port is disabled in the initial configuration, and the set of available commands for logged-in users is limited to essential maintenance tasks.
