CVE-2026-62224 Details
Description
OpenClaw MS Teams before 2026.5.12 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability where the allowFrom feature binds to mutable display names. Attackers with lower-trust access can perform actions requiring stronger authorization by exploiting the mutable display name binding in the affected feature.
An authorization bypass vulnerability has been identified in OpenClaw MS Teams versions prior to 2026.5.12. The issue arises because the allowFrom feature is linked to mutable display names, allowing attackers with lower-trust access to perform actions that require stronger authorization. This exploitation takes advantage of the binding between mutable display names and the affected feature, potentially leading to unauthorized actions.
Users are advised to upgrade to OpenClaw version 2026.5.12 or later. Before upgrading, it is recommended to restrict the affected feature to trusted operators or disable it when not needed. As a general practice, keep channel and tool allowlists narrow, avoid sharing one Gateway between mutually untrusted users, and disable the affected feature when it is not required.
