CVE-2026-6147 Details
Description
The LightSync Pro plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the rest_replace_media() function in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.6. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.
A vulnerability allowing arbitrary file uploads has been identified in the LightSync Pro WordPress plugin, in versions through 2.1.6. This issue arises from inadequate file type validation in the 'rest_replace_media' function, which enables authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to upload arbitrary files to the server. Such uploads could potentially lead to remote code execution.
Users are advised to update the LightSync Pro WordPress plugin to version 2.1.7 or a newer patched version.
