Description
ImageMagick before 7.1.2-26 and 6.9.13-51 is missing a check for the allowed memory allocation limit in matrix-backed operations such as -canny. An attacker can supply a crafted image that causes ImageMagick to allocate more memory than permitted by the configured policy, resulting in a denial of service.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in ImageMagick versions prior to 7.1.2-26 and 6.9.13-51. The issue arises in matrix-backed operations, such as the '-canny' function, which lack proper checks for memory allocation limits. This oversight allows an attacker to submit a crafted image that causes ImageMagick to exceed the allocated memory cap, leading to a denial-of-service condition.
Users can upgrade to ImageMagick versions 7.1.2-26 or 6.9.13-51 to address this vulnerability.
