CVE-2026-6094 Details
Description
Heap buffer overread in wc_PKCS7_DecodeEnvelopedData when parsing crafted PKCS7 EnvelopedData. This could theoretically be triggered by attacker-supplied data delivered via S/MIME or CMS.
A heap buffer overread vulnerability has been identified in wolfSSL versions prior to 5.9.1, specifically within the PKCS7 decoding functionality. The issue arises in the 'wc_PKCS7_DecodeEnvelopedData' function, where crafted PKCS7 EnvelopedData can be parsed incorrectly, leading to an out-of-bounds read. This vulnerability could be triggered by attacker-supplied data sent via S/MIME or CMS.
Users are advised to update to wolfSSL version 5.9.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
