Description
PraisonAI before 4.6.78 fails to validate file path references in custom command templates, allowing attackers to read files outside the workspace. Attackers can include path traversal sequences like @../outside_secret.txt or absolute paths in project command files to exfiltrate process-readable files into model prompts.
A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in PraisonAI versions prior to 4.6.78. The issue arises because the application fails to properly validate file path references in custom command templates. This flaw allows attackers to read files outside the designated workspace. By including path traversal sequences or absolute paths in project command files, attackers can exfiltrate process-readable files into model prompts, potentially leading to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.
Users can update to PraisonAI version 4.6.78 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
