CVE-2026-59844 Details
Description
A flaw was found in libssh. A remote authenticated client can issue SSH_FXP_READ requests with an arbitrarily large length, causing a libssh SFTP server to allocate excessive memory and potentially exhaust it through repeated requests.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in libssh's SFTP server implementation. A remote authenticated client can send SSH_FXP_READ requests with excessively large lengths, leading the server to allocate excessive memory. This memory consumption can exhaust available resources, causing the application to crash or degrade performance. The issue arises because the server does not enforce a reasonable upper limit on the read length specified by the client.
